Brown Bag Lunch Series
At 12:00pm each Friday, visit the Moton Museum and hear the incredibly powerful and moving stories of those directly impacted by the 1959-1964 Prince Edward County public school closings. The museum will play 30 minute audio interviews recorded by the acclaimed StoryCorps oral history project. Facilitated dialogue and discussion to follow. Free and open to the public.

1st Tuesday of each month
Prayer Breakfast
Join us from 7:30am to 8:30am on the first Tuesday of each month to begin the workday with community, friends, breakfast and prayer. All are invited to join a gathering reflective of our shared faiths, optimism and hope for a healthier community. This event is free and open to the public, with free breakfast provided for all guests.

“School Desegregation: Learn, Preserve & Empower” Event
From 11:30am to 4:00pm at the Robert Russa Moton Museum, join AARP Virginia, the D.O.V.E. Project, Virginia NAACP and the Urban League of Hampton Roads for the local event in their statewide effort to record oral histories and collect materials related to school desegregation in Virginia. This event is free and open to the entire community and will include free food, a short film, exhibits and empowering workshops for all.

Celebrating Johns-Griffin Day 2012
In remembrance of the lives of Prince Edward County Civil Rights leaders Barbara Rose Johns Powell and Rev. L. Francis Griffin, Sr., area churches will celebrate Johns-Griffin Day with a reading of a resolution in recognition of their contribution during worship services. Join us at the Farmville Baptist Church for a stirring performance by the Tuskegee University Golden Voices Choir. The event is open to all and a free-will offering will be accepted to support the choir program.
