Writer Kristen Green kicks off ‘Moton Lunch-in Series’ Friday, June 26

Join Kristen Green, author of Something Must Be Done About Prince Edward County, at Moton, Friday, June 26.  The ‘Lunch-in‘ talk is noon-1:00PM, followed by a community reception from 5:00-8:00PM.  Both events are free and open to the public.  $10.00 from each of Friday’s book sales will be donated to Moton, courtesy the author and Chop Suey Books.

In Something Must Be Done, Green rendersa deeply moving account of historical injustice and a personal search for redemption for her family’s role in it” (Booklist).  Part historical non-fiction, part memoir, the book weaves together the many perspectives surrounding Prince Edward County’s 1950s and ’60s school desegregation battle.  It also serves as a call to action for improved U.S. public schools and race relations today.
